Southern California's breeding mommy's little monster

In two days I will be 18. My mother has been bugging me about what I want for my big birthday but I'm honestly not sure. However, I'm pretty excited to be able to do 18-year-old things. Like vote, legally purchase things from the television, play the lottery. Actually, I might end up purchasing a package of cigarettes so I can give them to the homeless people downtown who are always asking for one. I think it'd be nice to make somebody feel a little bit better. I've always believed that people in a situation like that deserve whatever the hell they want to momentarily escape reality.

Anyway, I've been feeling pretty sleepy about this season, if that makes any sense. Everything has been pretty relaxed and tired. Time has been moving sluggishly, but too quick for recognition. It's strange, really. But here's an outfit for this week. I've been rather obsessed with socks and tights lately.

Gosh I guess my writing is also a bit on the sleepy side too. I proofread this post and I sincerely hope I didn't bore you to death.

And we don't know just where our bones will rest. To dust, I guess.

Hello!

Gosh how I've missed you all.

Life can do some really strange things.

However, it hasn't all been too bad. I've come to know my first love in the time I've been gone. I've only dated one other person in my life. And I'm not sure I would call it dating. It was more like a "well I think you're kind of cool so let's kind of date or something" high school relationship. We never even surpassed the occasional hug. But anyway, my boyfriend has certainly been my first for nearly everything as far as relationships go. It's exciting and new and wonderful.

Anyway,
I haven't really kept up with the latest style trends. I've been much too engulfed in work, school, and my relationship. But I have been getting overwhelming 70's vibes. Which really goes nicely with fall weather- with all of the warm colors and whatnot. October is my favorite month of the year. Actually, it's the month of my birthday.

Also- I'm turning 18 on October 8th! It's somewhat difficult to believe sometimes. I remember starting this blog when I was just 16. I'd hate to get all reflect-y on you, but it's so interesting to think about what my life was like when I first started posting. When I first started posting, it was really the beginning of the end.

I've battled depression and anxiety since the 2nd grade, being prescribed Prozac at age 8. When I originally began posting, I turned to stealing Valium, alcohol, food restriction, and self harm. Sometimes, it's hard to believe. And I think I did a pretty good job of hiding that. Fashion was my distraction. And my blog was a reflection of that. Regardless, it's all behind me now. And it probably explains my lack of posting. I no longer need that distraction to function. I. Am. Free. Of course, I occasionally relapse into that all-too-familiar sickly depressed feeling, but I've survived it. And I'm glad to still have a family of bloggers to return to.

Thanks.

Pick me up now. I need you so bad.

Wow!

I'm surprised some of you all still read my blog. It seems that my disappearances are becoming more and more frequent.

To keep you somewhat updated, we've moved into a new house, and I've gotten my first job, dropped out of high school, got my GED, I'm enrolling in college this fall, and I've finally gotten my license. I guess you could say that life has been keeping me busy.

I hope to start posting a bit more, because I enjoyed being a part of this community.

Tidal waves, they rip right through me. Tears from eyes, worn cold and sad.

If you haven't already noticed, I'm giving my blog a much-needed makeover! I was inspired by the lovely Claire of snuggllepuff.blogspot.com (two Ls!!) and her own spacey background. I'm trying to play around with photos too- today I've got some really round ones. *u* And they're not as horrible as my last post. I promise not to post anything that grainy ever again.

[EDIT: I just deleted that post! I'm too picky about my image quality.]

And these were the shoes I wore with this outfit-I made these shoes quite a while ago! 'Just took 'em, spray painted them, and brushed on a skeletal pattern. I probably wear these the most out of all of my shoes.

There aren't many things I love about the state I live in. But I really love the weather. I mean, a tank top and skirt in the winter? Coolest thing ever. Super simple and super sweet. <3

I was born a unicorn

Geez. I really can't get enough of these skeleton tights. This would make the third outfit post in a row with those damn tights. I don't know, they just kind of go with everything I wear. That, and I really love skeletons/skulls. As an artist, pencil studies of skeletons/skulls are amazing practice- I've learned so much about anatomy.

Anyway, I can't wait until next Halloween because they're actually starting to get shredded in the back. Now I know to stock up! I might actually have to do a contest to win a pair one day.

The picture is pretty shitty, but the shirt is so ugly <3 I love it!

And check out these glow-in-the-dark skeleton earrings I snagged at claire's around Halloween!

I'd also like to give a little shout-out to the lovely Lydia and George for helping me figure out how to format my blog images! I'm super grateful.

I go for a swim but I don't get wet

I really need to save up for a nice digital camera. ( +_+) I had to use my cell phone this time, so some of my main photos are a little blurry. It's weird, though. Some of the pictures turned out REALLY nice while the others turned out relatively poor. I tried to make up for it with close-ups, but I'm hoping to get a new camera soon, so I won't have to deal with that anymore.

Also~ for all of you shmancy bloggers out there, how do I get rid of the pesky size restriction on my photos? Every time I upload them, they get all small and shrinky and the details get hard to see. I'd really appreciate the help!

So blurry. ):
Sweater- christmas gift (American Eagle?), random dress worn as skirt, skeleton tights- Walmart, shoes- Converse
If you look behind me, you can see one of my cats!

Nope. I will probably never get tired of these tights.

Also~ check my lovely Descendents patch!! Greatest Christmas presents ever? I think so. I have the greatest best friend ever. *u* Now I just have to figure out where to put all of these snazzy patches...

You can get some patches like these for yourself from lavendertrap on etsy.

I don't think I've ever uploaded a picture of my red bangs yet! I did them some time in September, I think.

We'll have the time of the our lives, although we're dying inside

I'm not quite sure what you would call a post like this, but I see a lot of other bloggers call them a "mood board". So a "mood board" it will be.

This season, I'm really into old scrapbook photos and road trips and memories. Just that sort of warmth and nostalgic feeling that you get when you look at all of your old pictures. Of course, none of these are old. In fact, they were all taken within the past week. But eventually, it'll be 20 years later and these pictures will give me that warm and nostalgic feeling all over again.
My friend Eila has a scanner, so her picture turned out better.

Found him on the side of the road... Eila named him Ted.
RIP Ted
